My wedding date is set! When should I order my cake?

Congratulations!! I am a small shop and dedicate my time to only one wedding per weekend so I book up fast. Please get in touch with me at least two months before your wedding date to get on our calendar. We’ll need time to meet in person or on the phone, I’ll get a quote and concept sketches put together for you and. To hold get your date forever emblazoned on my calendar, I’ll need a signed cake contract and 50% deposit. Balance is due 7 days before delivery date.

Do you accommodate food allergies?

I do offer a few gluten-free (brownies, chocolate cake), dairy-free (lemon meringue tart), and nut-free items, but I bake in a kitchen that uses all these items every day so I can’t certify my food for dietary restrictions or allergies.

I waited too long to order and need a cake now!!

While I usually require a week notice, hit me up, I may be able to help you. I’m a softy and love to do a rush order if possible. But to be on the safe side, get in touch at least a week before to order celebration cakes and cupcakes. I need at least two days to get you brownies. Check my instagram to see what offers I have going—I may just have a batch of what you want ready to go!

Do you offer cake tastings?

Yes! I’ll usually offer take-home cake tastings a few times a year, so follow me on instagram or just ask when the next round will be. Tastings are free with a signed cake contract, otherwise they are $35 for six flavor combos in cupcake form. These tasting boxes highlight cake AND filling AND buttercream AND topping flavors so they are time consuming to put together, hence not being able to offer them as one-offs all the time.

Do you deliver?

Yes! I’m happy to deliver celebration cakes and desserts for a fee of $20-$50 in the Seattle area, weddings are always a minimum of $50 delivery and set-up fee. Price depends on the size and set-up requirements of the dessert. For delivery outside the Seattle area, price will depend on travel time and gas expenses. Cakes with fresh flowers must be picked up or delivered on the day of the event to guarantee perky blooms.

How should I store my cake/cupcakes?

I recommend storing cakes and cupcakes in the fridge, but be sure to let them sit at room temperature for a while before eating. Buttercream is full of butter! So It gets firm when cold. It’s perfectly fine to eat this way, but will be exponentially better when brought to room temp. A buttercream cake can sit out at a wedding or party for hours, just put some plastic wrap on the cut part before putting it to bed in the fridge for later consumption.

Can i freeze the top layer of my wedding cake?

Sure! If you have the freezer space, go for it. This tradition is a classic, just don’t expect year-old cake to taste perfect on your anniversary. If you want to freeze, make sure to double or triple wrap your cake and put it in the coldest part of the freezer (typically the back). The alternative is to let me make you a fresh cake—at half price—for your first anniversary, which is an offer I extend to all wedding cake customers.

What if my cake gets damaged after delivery?

Once an order is no longer in my care (delivered or picked up) I take no responsibility for any damage caused. If an unlikely and unforeseeable accident happens and the damage is my fault, I will do absolutely everything I can to fix it and you will be refunded proportionally.

Do you do shaped cakes or fondant?

No, sorry. I stick with what I know and love, which is modern cake designs with Italian Meringue Buttercream.
